Ease of entry/exit, auto box and as much bhp as I can get are my criteria for a car. Couldn’t give a monkey’s about badge. Available power is important because an engine which is under stressed gives a better, smoother and more comfortable result during everyday driving. Can also be more frugal if used properly. My most recent Motability cars (Skoda Superb and Cooper S 2-door) both have generous power but I never use it at full, flat-out capability. They even have launch-control which has remained untouched in its computer!
