That’s right. A Mild Hybrid doesn’t drive the wheels. It only means that the engine can be turned off whenever the car is coasting, braking, or stopped, yet restart quickly. Some also have regenerative braking that can top up the battery and allow power steering.
It’s a bit of a con imo. My X1 18d does all of these things but it’s just a good ‘ole diesel.
