    My sympathies Brydo,

I too am the chief cook and bottle washer, but I took the view that there were only so many hours in a day & that weekends should be spent together, not arguing over the state of the place. So we took on a cleaner,  it’s been brill, she does all the downstairs & the bathrooms, inc. steam cleaning, hoovering dusting etc, all the jobs I hate…Only 3 hours a week (shes faster than me!). She even pops next door to collect our parcels and has been known to take the dog for a walk (not paid, just likes the dog). We bung her a few hours extra every now and then to clean the windows or attack the cooker.

I just view it as paying for services my wife used to perform (oooeer, steady!) using part of the care component of her Pip.

Leaves me with the shopping, cooking, washing and gardening. Which reminds me, I have a phone no. for a very decent gardener…Takeaway for dinner tonight!

In life, it's not who you know that's important, it's how your wife found out.
