Stephanie, the Sports version of the X2 may well be fitted with a stiffer suspension set up and run flat tyres (I know this is the case with the M sport). This combination produces noticeably increased road noise. Having driven on both “normal’ and run flat tyres I would avoid run flats with your son’s noise sensitivity.
