I think perhaps we need to take a step back and look at the reason we have a mobility grant in the first place.
It’s because we need assistance with getting around. We have a Motability car as a tool to help us with our mobility problems.
It’s a “tool” not a status symbol and as such is a bit more prone to showing signs of wear and tear. It’s an invaluable extension to the life we’re able to lead, and a carrier of ourselves and our equipment.
My house is clean and tidy and my car is clean and tidy because I’m lucky to have family help. Others aren’t so fortunate and can only struggle to do their best. Motability’s good condition bonus recognises this and get’s it right most of the time in my opinion.
