I could maybe understand if someone had already been caught misusing a scheme car, but not just to check.
Maybe your mother said something to them that thought it was a greater risk? But my mother had Alzheimer’s so if asked she would say some odd things that had never happened or just reply yes or no to everything depending on her mood.
