I guess what it does underline is that nothing stays the same forever, we live in an ever changing world, and it very much seems to be one which is more increasingly driven by profit.
I personally work in local government. When I started it was commonly known as a job for life. We’ve seen a hell of a lot of changes over the years especially since austerity kicked in. I’ve been fortunate to have been in the job for 30 years but quite frankly, i’ve no idea if i’ll still have the job next year.
