I think it is also important to remember the ‘extras’ that Motability do offer. So there are the transition scheme(s), the fact that if you lose entitlement then there is no hassle ending the contract early and the good condition bonus the payment of which has been broadened and the amount increased.
I’m not suggesting that the scheme is perfect and it should certainly be more responsive to and open with its customers. Just that there are advantages which make a like for like comparison more difficult.
