We’re almost 3 years into our current lease and the Santa Fe has been kept in cracking condition, well, … it was all going so well until I took my eye off the ball
Having kept the cars alloys in mint condition a partcularly high curb got me and left a scuff on one of the rims. Worse still on the Santa Fe, the alloys have a silver chrome finish, and that involves the wheels first being painted black before they get the silver, so of course when they get scuffed the black gets exposed … aaaarrrrgggghhhh !
As I’m really particular about looking after the car to say I was torally furioys with myself is an understatement.
Now the Santa Fe has a 5th alloy as a spare but weirdly it doesn’t have a tyre pressure sensor in the valve, so if i had just swapped the wheels myself the car would just continually howl warnings at me.I ran it past motability and i’m pleased to say that whilst the car was in having its first MOT they also authorised an extra hours labour for the dealership to swap the tyres and valves on the scuffed wheel and the undamaged spare.
Motability didn’t have to do that at all, but recognised that my wife has been a customer for over 20 years, and we’d kept previous cars really well, often qualifying for the good condition bonuses.
The car looks great again. Very happy with that.
Thought it was about time for some positive feedback on motability for a change. Well deserved.
