Hello

I’m coming to the end of my first lease, it started 11th Nov 2022 and ends 11th Nov 2025, with the application window for new car opening on 10th Aug 2025.

My question is on 15th July 2025 my pip claim was renewed for 3 years, do I have to wait until 10th Aug to start the process of ordering the new car or can I do it from now, I’m a little confused.

As you will have 12 months award remaining when you order there’s no need to worry and you can order when the window opens from the 10th August.

In addition,  be mindful that you do not have to return your vehicle on 11 November. For example if your new vehicle hasn’t arrived/ is not ready for collection yet.

 

The dealership should (but you need to monitor) also automatically extend your car insurance until your new car is ready for collection.

Thank you both very much, I thought I had to give it back in November which is why I was worrying that I would be without a car while waiting for new one if I could only order in August so wanted to do it early now that I’ve got the renewal on PIP. Thank you for clearing that up 🙂

You also have the option of extending your lease for 2 yrs to give you time to look around for a suitable replacement, you can order anytime you want then.
