That’s an increase by around 6%, don’t think that in particular makes a world of difference? The layout does seem reasonably sensible (7″ bass speakers in the front doors, 7″ mid-bass speakers in rear doors, subwoofer in trunk etc). TotallyEV apparently has a youtube video on the Elroqs Canton system, and he does say that generally speaking, the sub is decent enough for most people – but it is lacking compared to “actual high end” systems.

Reading through various forums it’s noted, the Canton sound system’s performance claims vary from over 500W in the Elroq configurator and then 675W in the Elroq’s system sketch on Canton’s website. Yet on Skoda’s smart technology website for the flagship VRS, it states a 12 speaker 610w Canton sound system, which theoretically makes sense because the Elroqs a smaller vehicle than the Enyak and mirrors Skoda’s other cars, where the larger the car the higher output. I noted Skoda’s confiurator didn’t mention wattage only the fact the option pack included Canton.

Across the Skoda range, Canton doesn’t get the most thrilling reviews by owners, which is understandable considering the basic laws of audio aren’t followed by encasing the sub in polystyrene, thus starving it of air a sub needs. One thing to point out is, automotive audio is only, as good as a auto manufacturer is willing to pay and rarely as good, as a audio manufacturers HiFi fidelity seen in home HiFi or pro systems.

Unfortunately you don’t see audio as a seperate option these days and they are often bundled together with other options in expensive packs.
