My commute is 30 miles return total hence why I considered the plug in Tucson- was worried about charging every night with a granny cable to our outdoor sockets ( std 3 pin for lawnmower etc) and was worried I may have to pay to upgrade our electrics if we changed to / added a special socket
At the moment, I’m just using a socket in the living room and poking the cable through the window. Typical sparky way 🤣
It comes with a 10A granny charger and a type 2 cable. Using the granny charger the plug & socket stay cool to touch. I also have a used selectable A charger cable from ebay (£50), selecting 13A 3kW the plug and socket barely get warm and will be even cooler if plugged in outside.
The downside but, it isn’t bothering me is it takes 5hrs from empty.
An interlocked commando socket would charge at the full 7.4kW taking 2ish hours from empty. Cost wise your looking at £300 – £400 to supply and fit depending where you are. If you want O Pen device for PEN fault detection depending on your home earthing arrangement add approx £50-£60. Alternatively an earth rod would be cheaper.
