As long as you’re entitled to higher rate mobility element of PIP or equivalent benefit, then you are automatically entitled to a disabled person’s exemption from VED on one vehicle. Motability take advantage of this in taxing our scheme cars but if you leave the scheme, then you can just as easily register your next car yourself.
