Your charger install can go ahead with a 60/80A fuse you need to make the spark aware beforehand and as long as it’s a charger that has a CT clamp or can be set to a lower power it’ll be ok until the DNO change the fuse.

I’d be amazed about that meter cross wiring thing are both your meters in a cupboard together? That sorta thing generally only happens in flats tbh. Wonder how they’re going to put that right financially…..

The DNO nearly always send a bod out to look before scheduling the actual change, stupid if you ask me, he’s there like he says 2 minute job really assuming the holder doesn’t need changing too and if the whole unit needs swapping it’s 15 minutes. Every time I’ve had them in they’ve come in pairs working together, safety presumably. Have you had your meter rails checked? That’s not something the DNO will touch they need to be 25mm for 100A fuse install. They did mine and turned a blind eye they were changed shortly afterwards.

The DNO have to do tests before and after the fuse replacing. The helpfully wrote the results on the wall lol

Mine was more complicated as the supply was also looped, so they had to get a cherry picker in too and run a new cable from the insulators on the outside wall but that’s a 1930s house for you.

Got to say I think we’re so lucky our HA is on the ball after much kicking from me. Previous tenants were massive potheads so no work ever done after moving in we got new roof, windows, kitchen, air source heat pump and in December just gone 4kw solar panels just waiting on a disabled facilities grant for a new wetroom now and we’re sorted.

I’ve already got a charger here Motability paid for a Hypervolt, so this time I opted for the BP Pulse sub I’ve just had the code thru it’s a 3 year sub so you get access to “some” free chargers and a lower subscribers rate on their rapids. You’d have to public charge a lot to get your £7 a month if you were paying I wouldn’t bother but it’s free sorry included and it will make a difference next summer esp when you youngest finishes school, I expect.
