I unfortunately took out a small deer last night. Thankfully the impact was only on the bottom left side of my Renault Zoe. The bumper is cracked but still looks aligned and the fog light is pushed in but not broken.

Now do I contact motability/insurance?

If not repaired would this be classed as usual wear and tear?

If the bumper is cracked and the fog lamp potentially misaligned then that is impact damage and would not be classed as “fair wear and tear”. If you ring the Motability customer service line on 0300 456 4566, they will almost certainly advise you to ring the insurance line. They can transfer you to that number.

You need to inform Motabilty and let them decide but it looks like an insurance claim

A friend of mine hit a very big deer, smashed his windscreen, deer ran off into field. He rang police but they weren’t interested.

Many many years ago in my very 1st car – a Morris Marina no less I got charged at by a lunatic deer driving through Thetford forest at night, it mullered 1 side of my poor car. Got out and chased the hooligan but it ran off.

I was told to report it and apparently they’re all owed by the Queen so in hindsight perhaps I should have sued. ?

That is bad luck. I suspect it will be an insurance job.

Should be £100 towards insurance so not deer
