@Roger – thank you for your reply.

I wasn’t asking for me exclusively- more so others can note that they will need to pay a subscription and that many won’t have been told this.

I myself  have a Solar PV array on my house with a large battery store- my electricity is actually mostly free throughout the year and I actually often sell energy back to the grid.

I don’t have any issue or problem in paying for the subscription for an EV charger  but I was making others aware that they would need to pay and at the time of posting, I wasn’t aware of how much that would cost. I was also pointing out that I don’t think it’s a widespread knowledge that there is an ongoing charge to use the charger especially when people sign themselves up to go full EV.

For your info, chargers do not all cost £1000 (search for EVEC EV Charger on google as a quick example). That is less than half the price you suggest. Be careful not to scare people into thinking that the EV world is for the rich- its more affordable than a lot of people are led to believe.

Some peoples number one worry is  their personal  finances and I was trying to make people who choose the EV route aware that they should be mindful of a subscription to Ohme (to which I have later found out is very small and hopefully won’t alarm anyone!). We should all respect that   that  everyone’s circumstances are different and as a collective, we are here to help people.

I am very grateful to Motability who will be installing my charger In the coming week in anticipation for the arrival of my first EV early next year. I am also very grateful for the scheme even being there helping us. I never feel entitled to this and do not lose sight of that.
