2015 I was in the same boat as you @Gee. Take my advice and opt for the bypass. I had a triple bypass and new aortic valve fitted at the same time.
Recovery was not easy as I had severe Kidney failure after the operation. 18 weeks in hospital in a city 38 miles from my home.
I stopped smoking cigs a year before surgury thanks to vaping. @Kezo advice is spot on. I still vape now. But I have to say now in 2023 that I am pleased to still be here.
