Even if it wouldn’t stop the brakes still work even without electric assistance they’re just harder to actuate.
You can put the car in Neutral whilst driving
You can press the P button as the parking brake doubles as an estop
The report is full of odd statements. He says I was stuck at 30 then says I went round a roundabout that slowed me yo 15….
He’s either incompetent to drive a modern car, hadn’t understood the controls nor read the handbook. He admits he hasn’t had the car very long in an interview.
He also says police officer dove in and did something to stop the car, pressed P?
Other possibility is this guy is seeking attention like the HGV with failed brakes that turned out to be perfectly fine.
He’s now saying I’ll never drive any electric cars… You wouldn’t say that if something had happened to a petrol engine car like in the old days say a stuck throttle linkage
Don’t believe it, it’s either faked for attention or insurance or he’s incompetent to drive.
I am fully prepared to take all that back if forensics finds fault with the car but Occam’s razor simplest explanation – Driver at fault
