I think it is down to each case and circumstances. As sadly when my wife passed our Seat Tarraco was only 3 months old. Had paid for extras towbar etc. The problem in my case was she was on PIP and I am on War pension mobility. I was willing to sign over the extra amount from war pension but not allowed by Motability so had to return her car and await a brand new fresh order.
