So looking at the list in despair for what largish vehicles are still on the scheme.
I came across the Ford Grand Tourneo which is a rebadged and tinkered with VW Caddy. Again one of the quirks on the scheme this model with a bigger engine and a higher specification is cheaper than the smaller engine base model.
I started the ring around the Ford dealers locally. Of the Four dealers I rang across a distance of 120 miles the longest conversation with a Motability sales was 3 minutes. One suggested I would be lucky to see a vehicle between 12 and 18 months and was “up to me if I want to wait that long!” the longest conversation was with the sales man who didn’t know what was on the scheme and had to pass on the model details. He was the only 1 that could offer a test drive but the vehicle is “out” permanently and we would have to arrange a time when it could be available for me – but it isn’t automatic and is probably the short wheel base and lower specification – in other words go away!
How are you supposed to order a vehicle without the opportunity of seeing one let alone have a drive in one ?
Similar to the Ford Kuga (facelift 2023) even if I could check out the vehicle what are the chances of receiving today’s specification in 18 months time or even having the order cancelled because it is no longer available ?
Who would have thought it so difficult to spend a lot of money
