Agree, Chris. Obama started this nonsense. Keep buying the V8s but grow corn to fuel them. Nuts. The eco zealots argue that because the beet absorbs CO2 when growing, then this is sustainable. But the field would still absorb co2 if you grew another crop so where is the advantage? Perhaps I’m missing something here other than my extra cash spent on less efficient fuel! I can’t believe that cutting down a heathy pine tree that will take decades to replace is some how sustainable as you release all of its stored carbon when burnt and lose its ability to absorb more for years to come. Also it is reduced to pellets and shipped from Canada to drax in a diesel powered cargo ship. I’m all for saving the planet, but we are governed by grandstanding, disingenuous buffoons.
Btw, love the Allspace and hope there’s a direct replacement next time around. I was very lucky to get the order in two years ago and feel very sorry for all those trying to obtain something suitable in this disastrous market. The UKs production figures are horrific and the pound is plummeting which won’t help prices. Very sad, imho.
