Hi as any one got a ateca  21 plate the what a log to know as it still got us a CD player in the glove box or was it taken out when I remodelled the car

Hi.

I’ve just received my facelift Ateca 2.0 TSI Experience Lux DSG and I’m sorry to say that the CD player has been discontinued in the facelift model.

The annoying thing is that the casing for the player is still in the glove box, so you have no extra room and no CD player.

I think my current KIA car has a slot in the infotainment unit for a CD but like the one in the glove box of my previous Golf and Seat Leon I never used it other than just checking it worked when first collecting the car from new.

That’s why I say “I think” as to myself and a lot of other folk these days its become obsolete.

In my Golf I used a standard 16 Gb SD card and in my current car, a 32 Gb mini USB memory stick. Its an easy procedure to put all your music onto some form of memory stick to play in the car and if you use a high byte rate while converting your CD’s you wont hardly notice any different to the sound in a car environment.

I think most of the young ones these days just use the music on their phones via Bluetooth or just stream and that’s why there’s no CD unit in your car IMO.

Hi another question for seat ateca owner is there a heated front window Screen on the top of the range model

Yes. The Experience Lux has the Climacoat heated windscreen.

toshibadog01, As I’m test driving one tomorrow could you give us your thoughts on your ownership with details of mpg and what you like and dislike?  No option to add Beats audio so is the standard stereo any good ?  Did you add any other options and is it 2wd or 4wd ? What colour ? Thanks

Hi Welsh Joe.

I take it by your user name that you are from the great kingdom of Wales?

I am, myself, of that land.

As to the car, it’s a 4wd.

It’s in Rhodium Grey with really nice grey alloys.

I’ve had the the for just 3 weeks and I’ve been in it quite a lot!

Petrol consumption is around 30-34 mpg around the valleys and I’ve seen 48- 51 on motorway trips with the Adaptive Cruise Control active.

The stereo is quite good, plenty of volume and there’s a graphic equalizer to tweak so you can get the tone you like. It’s fine.

There no options that can be added except for a sunroof which I didn’t bother with but the Experience Lux comes with everything you would want in a car. The only niggle is that there is no electric driver’s seat on this model and no option to add it to the car. Annoying!

I think this car is really good. It’s very quick, pretty quiet and it handles like a dream with no rolling on bends and twisty roads.

I had this engine in my previous car, a Skoda Superb 2.0 TSI SEL Executive, and this car is much better on roundabouts and bends with the Alldrive making the difference.

Hi Leslie,

It’s metallic Rhodium Grey.

I chose it because it makes the black wheel arch trims almost invisible and it’s a fabulous colour, especially when the sun is shining.

Beautiful car and pics, we’ve had our Excellence Lux (1.5tsi DSG) in Dark Camouflage for a month now and we love the car. Fighting with the dealership to fix the Lane Assist fault (they say there’s nothing wrong with it) but apart from that we are very happy with it and got used to the manual seat adjustment. I also bought a boot floor lining from Amazon so it’s all good! Enjoy the new car!

Thanks Chris. It took me a little while to not having an electric memory seat but, once you know the right setting, it’s fine. The Dark Camouflage is really nice but I’m a sucker for dark grey 😉

Had my Ateca FR Sport 1.5dsg for 2 months now and it’s superb to drive and mine luckily does have the electric heated drivers seat/ digital dash but none of the safety stuff that comes in the experience lux. Also the FR Sport looks so much better because of the body coloured trim rather than the plastic on experience models.  FR Sport also has the best wheels in my opinion.  Once you have driven it I am sure you will get one.  No other SUV style vehicle compares to it for driving pleasure and the leathers seats are so comfortable.
