I fly Flexwings, great fun and cheap to operate, and the open air feel is so much better than a PA28 or C172 (Plus i’d struggle to maintain currency due to cost). Got just over 500 hours PIC in 4 years, flown from Gloucestershire to Toulouse in a day several times, and also flown in the Arctic Circle on Ski’s (Interesting with no brakes) Our aircraft are fully adapted, and we have double leg amputee’s and Paraplegics pilots. Hoping to get my AFI rating this year.

Hi Intranicity, that looks fun (if the Wx is good!).

I am in a syndicate that owns a PA28 Warrior and a PA30 which we fly out of EGNV. We have them adapted both for myself and a disabled lady flyer in the syndicate. Getting the adaptions certified was a nightmare, but we managed it in the end. Yes, it is rather a drain on the wallet, as is mx etc. But it is great fun.

Four of us in the syndicate went on a six-day tour of flying clubs around France in 2019 which was very enjoyable. We were hoping to repeat it last year and go further into Europe. However, Covid rather got in the way, as it might for this year as well sadly.

We have a flying field on one of our farms, used by microlights as my brother-in-law is really into them, but at my age, I prefer a bit of warmth and comfort when I fly!
