    Hi DeeBee.

As you have had the car for 18 months, then ‘you’ have had an MOT test on the car – and it passed without advisories.

The 1,700 miles might have been accrued in the time between the MOT and the car coming off the Motability lease, and minimal mileage since; and prior to your purchase.

It has been mentioned on this forum a number of times that people have forgotten about having their Motability car serviced, so yours might be one of those.

How do you ‘know’ that the selling dealer knew of previous accident damage and subsequent repair. My guess is that you don’t actually know – just presume. That’s why Lawgistics are asking you to prove your case – which you can’t.

In an early post, you state “I am trying to find out if car had been in an accident or bad knock”. This suggests (to me) that you don’t actually know that it has.

Does an HPI check indicate a ‘category’ following an insurance claim? It may not show anything, despite it having being accident damaged, and then repaired.

I’m not sure that you will ever find out the ‘true’ history of the car, but if it’s not recorded than it can be resold as such. If you’re not happy with the car, then maybe it’s time to move it on.
