Hey everyone, just a brief question. We recently got our first motability car which helps immensely, but three days ago we caught a nail into the sidewall of the front left tyre. The car had all around Bridgestone Potenza S001 tyres. Kwik Fit came around today, fitted a new tyre (to be fair: they were quick, and didn’t damage the wheel – so service wise, they were great). When i checked earlier, i realised that the new tyre is now a Continental Sport Contact 5. Meaning all but one tyre are BS Potenza, and the one in the front left is a Conti SC5. I’m not very savvy when it comes to this (it’s our first car, too) – is that okay to drive? Thanks, Rene
Providing it is the same size (for example 205/50/18) and speed rating (V or H after the numbers) then it should be fine.
Continental are certainly equivalent to Bridgstone and most well known brands, so I wouldn’t be too bothered.
Mine has 3 Michelins and a Continental fitted as Michelin ceased production of the exact same tyre as fitted to mine originally and the new Michelin tyres have a different speed rating. So Kwikfit fitted the Continental in lieu.
