Vinalspin, that’s one helluva story. To be honest, I would say that would have been assault and a police matter rather than a civil matter. Unless they were making a citizens arrest, they would not had any powers of detention.
I have to admit, I am surprised this has taken this long to get to the fore. It’s always annoyed me that people will just sit there with the engine running. I’m not talking about the situation stated by martino above. Of course I’d have had the engine running. That or freeze!? Or even at traffic lights, I’m not a fan of start/stop because the stress this must apply to the engine and starter is not good. No I’m talking about people, for example, who’ll happily park by a supermarket entrance and talk/wait/shop(!) whilst leaving the engine running having everyone coughing like mad trying to get in. Annoying and inconsiderate.
