I was in China last year and was amazed at the technology and infrastructure. Certainly in the Cities they are so far ahead of us that it is quite depressing.
A large percentage of cars and 90% of the scooters (and there are a lot) are electric. Clever things like electric bicycle hire with induction charging docks. The goods that are being produced are in most cases as good as or better than most.
Most car manufacturers are setting up plants there, the only problem, as I see it, is one of design and production quality control in some sectors. Things there change so fast that what we see as cheap quality can be changed in a matter of months. MG to me at the moment seem poorly designed and finished and are supported by (from what I see) a second rate dealer network. That will change no ifs or buts. I would say that within the next two years Chinese owned manufacturers will dominate the market.
