Just looking at the title of this thread and like most, if not all farmers would, thought the OP was talking about Artificial Insemination (AI). I was going to offer him some straws of pedigree Lincoln Red, White Peak or Dairy Holstein-Friesian bull’s semen! Although I don’t know what he would do with them unless he has some bulling cows or heifers to inseminate! I wrote my MSc dissertation (later published) on the subject of the use of AI and its resultant effects on genetic continuity of bloodlines/progeny in pedigree cattle breeding when I was employed in the lab at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food & Fisheries (later DEFRA). I later wrote a further paper on the subject of AI usage with pre-sexed bull semen in Stabiliser cattle and resultant bloodline effects in pedigree Hereford, Angus, Simmental and Gelbvieh beef suckler herds. None of this so called ‘artificial intelligence’ round here please!
