Motability will try to save as much as possible. Applying for the grant gets them the money to save.
It’s still worth noting the install is what they classify a ’standard’ install. That’s 15 metres of cable a hole in one wall, breaker box near the fuse box and attach charger to the wall. They will want proof that there’s a drive for the car and pictures of your fuse box to be sure everything’s good to go.
