For me I think the choice for under 25s is wide and perfect. Of course there will always be moments where an under 25 would love to get a more powerful car but its set by the insurance company and the restriction has been the same for a long time (its not related to DLM).
Mention is made of the fact that if the group were raised a wider range of cars would become available, but that will always be the case. A line is drawn in the sand and that’s it, another analogy will be that someone who is 24 years 11 months old will be restricted, yet one month late wont be, its just the away insurance works being based on data rather than accounting for the fact that some 24 year olds will drive extremely safely and some not.
Frustrating for some but perfectly understandable and as I say a big range of cars available
On a wider note, Motability has been an absolute life saver for the young person I support, for me (and him) it is a perfect system which enables him to have a reliable car with nothing to worry about other than getting it to the garage for servicing. No complaints here
