Yes, you can build up NCD on your Motability car, get a letter confirming this and have an insurance company allow you this NCD on a private car BUT this is where you’re leaving the scheme. You cannot use your current NCD on more than one vehicle at a time. I’ve had this situation frequently in the past and, when you look into it thoroughly, what I’m saying is true. Personally I think this is the usual insurance rip off. It’s your NCD and you can only drive one vehicle at a time but I’ve never found an insurance company who will allow this double use. Sorry.

I took that literally to mean any ‘new’ car purchased, rather than ‘additional’ car, which is perhaps what he meant to say, so if I misunderstood then I apologise.
