Went to bed at 4am! Daughter has been stuck in Finland for 2 days after her flight was cancelled on Thursday. Absolute nightmare trying to get her re-bopoked, hotel and food for 2 days/nights etc. etc. She was in a right state 🙁
Woke up this morning to about 3″ of snow and some heavy snow falling. BBC said heavy rain from 11am so that should clear it, did it rain? of course it didn’t 🙁
Finnair wouldn’t route her to Newcastle or Teeside only her original departure airport (Edinburgh) as she was meeting up with friends Thurs night and coming back today. So that all went out of the window!, made sure she was out of bed amd got to the airport on time this morniong (hence being up unitl 4am), they’ve flown her into Heathrow with a 6-1/2hr layover then up to Edinburgh for (hopefully) 5pm, then train down here so with some luck I’ll be picking her up from Durham at 9:13.
It’s been an absolute nightmare for the last 2 days, all she had was her mums pre-paid Euro card, her mum couldn’t top it up as their systems were “updated” last weekend and have been useless ever since. Managed to get her sorted and hopefully will see her tonight!.
One thing I’m not looking forward to is driving the Enyaq in snow, I know it has all wheel drive and traction control but it has the same Bridgestone tyres my previous Ateca had and they were completely useless in even 1cm of snow!, hopefully these with the extra weight and traction control are better!.
