@kezo I did the same 217 mile round trip today that I did last Saturday. I was disappointed with last weeks ‘true’ mpg equivalent of 38.8 mpg but today was even worse – 34.5 mpg. I was driving a little bit faster than last week, but not tons more, mostly in the 70-80 mph range. I think that’s shocking tbh. My previous ICE BMW would have done around 10 mpg better. It’s a good job that I don’t do journeys like that every week because, if I did, I think I’d be regretting getting a PHEV. I remain of the view that they are only worth choosing if a) you can charge at home and b) the vast majority of your driving will be within the EV range of the car. On longer journeys, where the EV range is depleted, the extra weight of the battery and the moderate petrol engine capacity makes the car very uneconomical.

Are you going to fill up with fuel, to get an average of the weeks driving, taking into account two 200+ mile journey’s.

If you remember when I first got mine I would fill up after a long trip to get an estimate in different scenario’s, rather than waiting for a whole tank assessment. You can discount any midweek running around, as long as, it was on pure EV and just assess the long trips.

However, if I’m brutally honest, I’m not looking forward to over winter and get the gut feeling, it will undo everthing and end up like I’m running a V8 😂
