I can only think sone BMW drivers are economical with tge truth when it comes to reliability.

I worked for the BMW Group on Financial Warranty Recovery and BMW were no better and no worse than any other car manufacturer.

The warranty costs for BMW were on a Par wich JLR and Volvo, and again from actual knowledge, better than Ford.

Problems included rear rubber mounting bushes failing, nickisel cylinder liners failing, timing chain failures, gearbox failures, turbo corrosion issues fuel pipe failures  to bname a few.

However, the were quite cute that parts would be replaced on normal service intervals instead of doing recalls.

Just lije other manufacturers, they ysed the same parts as other manufacturers, I.e. ZF gearbox used by BMW, JLR, Aston Martin and Chrysler,

I had quite a few BMWs as company cars and did have issues, including an annoying habit every winter of the door rubbers freezing and being unable to open the doors.

Yes, I’ve also had JLR xars fail, one annoying one was the radio would stop responding and wouldn’t go off, and ride height sensors fail due to corrosion.

Not one car company has 100%  reliability record, especially marques who hand build cars,
