@kezo I really should have said reposition not remove ? It’s not exactly where I wanted it, nearer the grey lan cable would be ideal, that way I could add a lockable box/cover which attaches securely to the wall to give it better protection from the elements and protect the cable from theft.

If you positioned the charger lower, whils’t moving it to the left within the constraints of the supply cable length, it would be easily doable.

If where you want it to go exceeds the length of the charger supply cable, it goes without saying a new cable would be needed from the consumer unit to the charger.

Is this something you would want to do yourself?

TBH I’m surprised they didn’t install it to the left of the window if only for aesthetic reasons!

Technically charger theft isn’t as ripe as cable theft. The charger itself is ip55 rated, so is protected from the elements. There are protective cages that fit over a charger, with an opening for the cable availble for about £50, such as the one provided in the link. Can the consumer unit by the meterbox be mechanically secured with a key or padlock, as this would provide a deterrant from someone isolating the power to the charger, so the charger is always live.
