@Badwolfe yeah I could have been more accurate on how oil is created but tried to dumb it down a bit and make it easier for the hard of thinking to understand that it all comes from a non renewable source that is getting harder to extract and the costs are going to increase considerably… my bad ?♂️ <p style=”text-align: left;”>However you’re wrong about the handling, yes they may be heavier but the weight is low down and spread over the length of the car not stuck up front. Any road noise is only noticeable because you don’t have a noisy engine to contend with.</p> Complaints about extra weight is a tired argument that never gets mentioned when someone buys a 4×4, a large SUV or a people carrier. And there’s a reason the road accidents involving pedestrians are not being talked about and that’s because it isn’t a thing… as for suggesting that EV owners all push the acceleration capabilities of the cars and are going to start killing pedestrians is laughable
Again you are just doing exactly what I said and being dismissive about everything negative regarding EV’s even though these things are actually mentioned in reviews now. The handling of EV’s is not a ‘tired argument’ its a statement of fact mentioned in numerous reviews even by reviewers who are very pro-EV and just because it doesn’t fit your narrative it can’t be dismissed.
In regards to the acceleration and weight aspects of EV’s again you can’t just dismiss it offhand because at the moment the data isn’t there one way or the other but basic physics alone says that heavier vehicles with much faster acceleration rates could possibly cause more fatalaties at much lower speeds to pedestrians but until they become more established we won’t know. Why do you think speed limits are being lowered in urban areas? Safety aspects is one reason for this.
Nothing is perfect be it EV, ICE or Hybrid but it cannot be denied that a lot of people who are pro EV do so at a fanatical level and either gloss over any negatives, spout incorrect facts or downright deny there any downsides to EV’s.
Like I constantly say EV’s have their place on the roads and in some respects are a better option for certain people if they can meet certain criteria but Im adult enough to acknowledge that all types of vehicles have their pro’s and cons and one type is not superior to any other
