Any modifications temporarily or permanent would require the permission of the owner which would be Motability depending on the modification if may require the insurance updated too.
Some people have been allowed too, and some will say they did it anyway, regardless it needs the permission of Motability as its their car not yours, you just have use of it for the period of the lease.
