Be warned that the U7K that everyone raves about is generally the USA model. The UK model is worse. Yeah I bought a new TV this year
Are you sure you have the U7K and not the U7H? Hisense addressed the differences between regions for 2023. As such, the U7K you buy in the UK matches the same TVs with that model number in other countries. A similar storey for the U8.
The issue with any entry/mid level TV with FALD is the number of local dimming zones are below <150, which can make local dimming intrusive and be caught out by fast moving scenes. Tone mapping can also be over brght in some areas with HDR content.
The TCL C745 is somewhat better (TCL now make LCD panels for Samsung) but, with only 2 more dimming zones its not as good as the like’s the 8 series from both manufactures.
OLED is far better as each pixel can be turned on, off or dimmed so you get over 8 million local dimming zones. Unlike LCD, you can’t get a bad entry/mid range OLED 🙂
