But what I really dont understand about petrolheads like “Geoff” is they seem unable to accept why we need to banish Fossìl tech to the dustbin of history. They totally ignore the evidence of man made climate change as well as the polution caused by fosil cars. Sad really.

With all due respect Daf, that doesn’t make awhole lot of sense! What your saying is man made climate, has a lesser effect mining for minerals, such as Lithium etc, than building a fossil vehicle and an Electric vehicle has less of a carbon footprint when it hits the showroom and that is before the said pollution from fossil cars cars when it hits the roads, in which EV’s have to clock up a considerable  amount of miles before it cancels ut a fossil cars carbon footprint?

There is a shotage of minerals on the horizon due to the current rate being mined. Man in his widom is looking to go the only place man has untouched on earth, the deep ocean. Mans aim is to collect rocks containing minerals from or just below the ocean floor . Mans plan is to lower a robotic machine that will dig up these billions of year old mineral rich rocks/pebbles, which in the process will cause huge plooms of sediment when the rocks are collected and further sediment will be blown back into the ocean as the sediment/rocks are seperated at the awaiting ship! Scientists do not think it is a good idea, because of the damage to the ocean floor or cause untold lasting damage. Yet there is a trial about to take place very soon! Indeed man is his own worst enemy… (above is a basic process from what I remember seeing)

And I’m not even anti EV!
