It’s currently 16 degrees here in the hills, but it feels warmer. The sun is shining the whole way across the Severn Valley and there is a very light westerly breeze.
It’s the second Eurovision semi final tonight and it’s forecast to be sunny throughout the evening until sunset. This means that I will be able to sit in the lounge watching both the song contest and the evening light turning the sunny valley into a darkening “Lord of the Rings” vista. I did the same on Tuesday evening for the first semi final and the dimming golden light on the fields contrasting with the shadowy woods and hollows set against a ridge of high hills in the far background looked ethereal!
