Finally after reading all the necessary reviews and watching many youtube videos, we have decided to opt for the Nissan ariya and pre ordered two weeks ago but to my surprise the delivery has been suggested for early June, lets hope the boat misses all the weather problems enroute from Japan. One of the reasons for choosing the ariya was because the ID5 was quoted for delivery up to a year ahead, it looks like Volkswagen are still enduring part issues, i think the ID5 would probably have been the next lease car but for the extensive lead time. I did not entirely rule out the enyaq but the more i put it against the other two the more i could not justfy the additional clever pack cost and since the ariya comes with the heat pump installed in order to achieve this on the enyaq would have cost another £1200 approx so therefore it would end up £1600 more than the Nissan advance payment with both options. The addition of an installed heat pump reduces the demand on the battery to maintain a constant environment in the cabin, in addition to this there is an app called Zapmap and Nissan have teamed up with the company whom created the software mapping tool and will pay for the premium version which creates routes with charging points highlighted in relation to the vehicles need for recharging at an opportune time. Within the next couple of months Motability will be reviewing the cars to be included in the scheme, perhaps a better selection of electric cars with a not so heavy advanced payment but equiped enough to support the needs of the scheme members would be beneficial.
The next big refresh is due on April Fools Day. Hopefully we’ll see the APs reduce where sales have been a challenge. It would be nice to see the Enyaq have the clever pack added as a more expensive AP option, as Motability won’t have to pay VAT on the car or it’s options and they’ll see the benefit at resell, it’s only fair that this pack can be added and that the benefit to Motability is recognised in the AP.
Our local dealer has advised that the Enyaq has immediate availability on some cars, whether that includes the no packs version will be seen only at the point of enquiry.
