    I hope the software update works well. I can see 2 easy updates that would seem to resolve the issue, but would make things worse –

    1. Decrease the sensitivity of when the filter needs a regen. This increases the length of time before the warning appears and gives more chance for the driver to clear it passively.

    2. Start running the engine in “lean mode” before the warning light.

    Problems –

    1. If the warning light appears later, then the PPF clogged be more severely clogged and even harder to clear.

    2. This might “work”, but I’ve notice my already poor mpg get worse once the warning light has been on for a while. I presume this is due to running lean causing worse fuel economy.

    Considering it’s taking so long, I’d be hopeful it’s not one of the 2 simple fixes above.
