I am due to pick a e-power qashqai in March, this will be my 4th qashqai on the scheme. I think they are a fantastic car and size wise suits all of needs. I have recently enquired about a swivel seat for my disabled daughter, who sits in the front passenger seat. A swivel seat would make it easier to get our daughter in/out of the car because she needs my assistance. The payment required for the manual Turnout seat is £1500, and can be fitted into another motability car at cost as long as the seat is not older the 3 years 6 months.
If bought as an adaption the seat belongs to motability. The total cost of the seat fitted is £2000, I am allowed to buy the seat and have the seat fitted, then pay for the removal at the end of the least, also need to inform motability and car insurance.Doesn’t make sense to pay £1500 to have a seat for 3 years, then end up with nothing. The powered seat demonstrated to us was £4600, just dead money. Another point is this may be our last motability car due to our age, so if we pay the extra £500 we can transfer the seat to a private car using a motability approved installer.
