Ive had a few hire cars @Paul581 and have demanded a similar car, after I got caught out with my first hire car.

My mum has/had a Crossland on the scheme – it went in for a service and on he way home the central locking was having a fit. When she got home the car wouldn’t lock. It went back to the dealers the next day, who later phoned her to say its off the road. (Luckily the hire car was the same.) It took 6 months for the new module to come from spain not china! When it came the dealer  said they sent no fixings, so would have wait longer for them to re-order from Spain! My father said there’s a fastners place down the road you can get them from, but they refused. They waited another 2.5 months before mum said to Mb she will never feel safe leaving the car again if and when it was fixed and requested she be allowed to re-order a new car.  Any way Mb agreed and she was in a Mokka in under a month from another dealer with one they were willing to let her have.

Firstly you want an hire car equivulent size to yours as its taken longer than you thought to get yours fixed, because the one you have isn’t suitable and dangerous.  You could say as my mum you have concerns and wouldn’t trust the car or something and request a new one., but I’d check there’s something suitable on the scheme and get the fealing of wait times or if a dealer would put you in one they already have on order or from stock. Also factor in AP’s, but I’d do your homework first if you go this route.
