Looks like i will be extending my Kia Soul EV to 5 years, glad i got that when i did. I really thought 2 years down the line i would be looking at an upgrade in 12 months time but looking at those ridiculous prices she will be with me for the long term, and thats no hardship i can tell you.
We feel the same about our BMW X1 Stuart. Very happy with it and we were lucky to get it at an AP last year that is but a fraction of what you would pay now for a car that isn’t half as nice. The thing that I struggle with is that with a 5 year lease you end up paying an additional £6,500 in sacrificed benefits (on top of the £10,000 we have already paid in the first 3 years, plus the AP etc) for running a 4/5 year old car that we never end up owning. A nice earner for Motability, but goes against the grain a bit for me. The only thing that might soften the blow is that we added quite a few options, so the cost of those would be amortised over a longer period ?
