Never found any of Sinclairs service department any good. Whether it was Skoda, SEAT, VW or Mercedes.
We bought our daughter a Fabia. When it was due for a service we naturally booked it with them. On the day arrived to be told, I had turned up a day early. Showed them the text message confirmation. Their response – “our mistake, you still have to come back tomorrow” – I didn’t
The VW service team wanted to charge be £650 to fit parking sensors to a Sharan – but wouldn’t colour code them (spray them with aerosol touch up”
It took the Tarraco to them because being VW, Audi, SEAT and Skoda dealers they would have plenty of experience with the VAG electrical systems. With the combined experience of the Technicians they came up with a solution to solve the electrical problems – turn off all the assistance options – parking sensors, electric windows, key fob, electrical assist boot, air con, lane assist, AEB, SOS alerts etc.
The SEAT and Skoda garage in Cardiff is the same dealer that could not find the fault in the car that the RAC vehicle inspector found.
My previous 2 scheme Leon’s were brilliant and were services by a local small dealership now absorbed by Gravells. The same as the Mazda 3’s my daughter and son had they were both looked after a small dealer between Llandeilo and Carmarthen now also closed. It seems to be the way at the moment with large multi brand firms.
Ringing up the dealers for stock and availability has been an eye opener. A few months ago, I got my daughter to ring up various dealers between Swansea and Cardiff enquiring about prices and delivery. Without fail, when I rang up as a MB c customer the delivery dates were at least 3 times longer, some even advised not ordering! The only honest one was the Hyundai garage in Swansea who quoted February delivery but in all likelihood it will be here before Christmas.
