    As others have said, it is not discrimination. ALL lease customers are at the back of the queue at present, not just Motability lease customers.

    It isn’t exactly plain sailing for private customers either. I was in our local Hyundai dealership the other day and was enquiring about a potential new car order for one of my daughters. The sales guy that said any private orders would take 6 months – and that’s Hyundai who have been affected less than most manufacturers. Our local Ford dealer told me last April that he was telling private customers that they would be lucky to get any new cars within 9 months and the position with Ford has worsened since then.

    The only winners in the current climate are those trading in private cars. One dealer told me recently that he is buying cars off his customers for only a few hundred pounds less than he sold them to them around 3 years ago. That’s very cheap motoring!
