Thanks Paul.  I guess the ‘Comfort’ seat spec may be included in mine as well if they’re standard in those models.  Even with the lumbar at its lowest setting it still feels like I’m being knee’d in the back.  Can’t remember whether they were in the options list when I ordered or not.  Only options available to me were BLIS, adaptive cruise and a CD player as far as I remember.

Yes BMWs are definitely out for me!  Wheels always seem to be unnecessarily large…add runflat tyres as well and there’s very very little comfort left!

The Mk4 Focus half leathers are softer and more comfortable than the full Vignale leathers in my opinion.  I had a Titanium X hatch (non Active) with half leathers briefly, but found the ride over poor surfaces to be too ‘jittery’ for want of a better word.  Hoped the extra ride height of the Active would reduce that but sadly found it to be just as bad…and with the added roll and pitch on corners, pull aways and braking.  I’ve got both physical digestive problems and vertigo so finding a balance of ride that doesn’t upset either of those has always been difficult.  The Active seems to be the worst of both for me!  So far the only cars I’ve had that were suitable long term was a Mk2.5 Focus Titanium and a Mk6 Golf Match.  Both comfort springs, independent rear suspension and 205/55/16 tyres…  I’m now trying to find something else with that same setup but it’s more difficult nowadays.  Most cars have twist beam and 17s or larger.

I am glad that you’re pleased with yours though!  Everyone’s different as you say.
