That sounds tough. Evs have exacerbated the difficulties and inequalities disabled people face. A whole new technology. How places get past the planners I don’t know. I can understand historic places being unsuitable but masses of new housing is useless too. Car sharing does not work for the disabled, nor does pedestrianising everywhere. Need more disabled MPs. Your parking problems are not going to get solved, but battery technology advances will soon give fantastic range, so that might help with one part of the equation. I once phoned about a house in Oliva, Spain. The parking was 300 metres away. When I said that was no good, the guy said, ‘I have a moped for sale I use it to go up and down (it was very steep) to the car so parking is no problem.’ Why are you selling it? I asked. ‘Because I broke my leg when I came off the moped going down to the car’, he replied. The world is not designed for disabled people. Councils should do more.
