I will certainly mention the Blue Mountain, Tharg. At the moment he’s still learning the combinations – grinds, brew lengths, shots, dilutions, milk/black – and playing with dark roasts, so it might not get a look in until next year. Every fresh brew becomes a veritable soliloquy about smoothness, acidity, bitterness, berries and . . . err . . . other stuff that coffee people burble on about.
Still, it makes him happy and gets him away from the computer for a while, so I’m all for it as I sit slurping my Little’s Hazelnut instant coffee (80% milk). It’ll settle down again in another couple of weeks. And I’m no better – get me onto anything Roman and I can babble for Britain.
It’s a shame Waitrose don’t carry Whittard’s because I’m rather partial to their Hot chocolate (quell surprise!).
